We are starting our new books this term. They have been designed to ensure the children have the best opportunity to cover all areas of the curriculum before the summer holidays.
Please follow the sessions I have laid out and only complete the tasks I set. If you finish it quickly, then feel free to use the extension tasks and then, if you would like, find further sessions on BBC bitesize; Iseemaths.com or National Oak Academy.

Write a letter to Mrs Lloyd-Davies - Plan This week we are going to write introduction letters to Mrs Lloyd-Davies. Today I want you to plan your letter. Use the planning sheet to plan out the details you want to include. Imagine you are in her shoes. What would you want to know about the children coming into your class? Favourite Subject? Subject you find trickiest? Hobbies? Family? Friends? Etc. |

Session 3
|
Write a letter to Mrs Lloyd-Davies – First Draft Read through the PowerPoint to identify the features of a letter. Make sure you use the correct layout when you write your own. Focus on getting your ideas down. Think about complete sentences, correct punctuation and interesting details. Remember, this will be the first piece of writing Mrs Lloyd-Davies sees, so use it as a chance to show off. |

Session 4
|
Write a letter to Mrs Lloyd-Davies – Edit and Final Draft Re-read your letter. Go through it and check that you have used punctuation correctly; your sentences make sense; you have included interesting information about yourself; you have spaced your writing out using paragraph for new information. Re-write your letter in your best handwriting or on the computer. Once you have finished, re-read one more time and send it to me. I will send them to Mrs Lloyd-Davies so she can get to know you. |
