Understanding the World/ Physical Development

With the following activities please do not worry if you don’t have the correct ingredients as we are aware how difficult it is at the moment to source food. They are only suggestions and can therefore be adapted or even changed to imaginative cooking in the garden/ mud or sand play.

Can you bake a cake? What ingredients do you need? Please can you talk to them about using a recipe and weighing out all of the ingredients.

Can you make a pizza using pita bread as a base and the toppings of your choice?

Is there a recipe you would like to make?

Can you make your own cake using ingredients from the garden? Can you make a mud cake?

Writing

Can you write a list of the ingredients you used in your baking/cooking?

Can you design your own pizza and then label it?

Don’t worry if it is not the correct spelling, you can then model this after they have had a go. It is important for the children to have a go first and practise their phonic skills.

EAD

Can you create some decorative bunting to celebrate VE Day and 75 years since victory in Europe in 1945? Please talk to the children about how and why they celebrated the end of the Second World War in Europe. Please use the Espresso website for any support.

We would have been celebrating this moment in history as a whole school and community so thought it would be nice to still mark the occasion. Here is a link on how to make the bunting.
