We are starting our new books this term. They have been designed to ensure the children have the best opportunity to cover all areas of the curriculum before the summer holidays.
Please follow the sessions I have laid out and only complete the tasks I set. If you finish it quickly, then feel free to use the extension tasks and then, if you would like, find further sessions on BBC bitesize; Iseemaths.com or National Oak Academy.

|
Session 1 Reading & SPAG |
Purple Mash 2Do – The Lost Myth of Mathos Read chapter 4 and complete the multiple choice comprehension. Complete the sequencing task in the resources folder. Challenge: Open ended question sheet in resources folder Make sure you answer these in full sentences that include the question. |
SPAG – LMO Mathos_Chapter4_SPaG PDF in the resource folder. |
|
Session 2 |
LMO MATHOS – The Story Continues - PLAN What happens next? Does the battle happen or is it about to start? Think about where you want to end your chapter/story. You are going to write the next chapter of the story. Think about what has happened and then think about how you want the story to continue. You are going to continue with the same characters on the same mission so you need to be clear on your details. Maybe re-read what you have read/written already and think about how to apply that information. Plan out your story map. Think about taking short notes to jot down your ideas. Remember you don’t have to use all your ideas but it’s better to have too many then not enough. |
Session 3 May take two sessions |
LMO MATHOS – The Story Continues – WRITE THE STORY Use the Power-Point for details you should be including in your writing. In particular how to punctuate speech; how to vary sentence structure; vocabulary choices etc. Take your time to write the story. Use your plan to guide your writing. Try to continue writing in the style of the original author. |
Session 4 |
LMO MATHOS – The Story Continues – EDIT and REDRAFT The template for the redraft is on Purple Mash as a 2Do. Make sure you have spent time editing for sense, errors and improvement. Try reading aloud what you have written. If you stumble or struggle to read a part, think how you could improve it. The template allows you to change page by clicking on the arrow at the bottom of the page. Make sure your pictures don’t cover up your writing. |

P.E. Play garden throw-golf. Decide on the “hole” in your garden and where you start from. See how many throws it takes to get the ball into/to hit the target. Add in challenges, like it has to bounce of a wall or you can only do one over arm throw. You could play this with a ball, or a frisbee, and either in the garden, or on a walk. Adapt the game as you go. Other Options Cosmic Kids Yoga – search YouTube Joe Wicks – daily PE lesson on YouTube
