Geography

The Atlantic – Under the Waves.

Identify the UK and Atlantic Ocean in an atlas or on a globe. Imagine that you are a diver, standing on a beach about to enter the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Divers use aqualungs to help them breathe beneath the waves. Mime putting on this equipment.  Role-play striding into the waves, getting deeper and finally swimming down through the waters. What will we see? Any creatures or plants?  The seabed is actually a bit like the land but very bare. There are valleys and hills, caves and flat plains.

Research the Atlantic ocean and write 10 interesting facts in your book.
