We were off, our first game against Maidstone district, they started slow, found their feet and the goals started to come. Each game was only 8 minutes and no rotation. The time flew, and when the whistle blew, we had won our first match 5-1. On to the second match against Tonbridge, Scarlett, the secret destroyer, played her socks off, she was on fire, goals from her coming thick and fast, the final goal for us from Anna”I can’t shoot “ Stanton, oh how wrong you were. We won 5-0 ! The third game against Medway(Greenacre), Esme was the shooter, with Hannah as her Goal Attack. The two worked well together, Hannah feeding the ball for Esme to score, we won this match too, this time 3-2. the last game was looming fast.... The final game, we played against Sittingbourne, clinical in their shooting , we conceded on,y two goals, we won 6-2. We had won group B.

After lunch we played the winners of the other groups. he girls played hard and fast, good defending from both Erika and Sophie meant we managed to keep the goals against down. We drew two, then lost 4-1 against Thanet, who were on top form. The last game however, saw a change, they took no hostages, playing against Herne Bay, we won 9-2, wow what an ending.

The team did exceptionally well, playing with determination and precision. So proud to be their coach, the comments from The England Netball Coaches were lovely to hear “the best Hi-Five team “ they had seen in a long time, “exceptional” was another. All the umpires gave them praise on how thy played, how they behaved on court, and what a joy it was to umpire their games.

To come third against 14 other districts in Kent is quite an achievement for a village School.

This was indeed the “proud mummy “ moment, lump in throat what a way to finish the year. On a personal note, a big thank you for all your hard work and determination , if you believe you can achieve ! Congratulations to Tabitha, Esme, Erika, Anna, Scarlet, Hannah, Sophie and Daniel, the patient reserve .
